Editorial Policy

Purpose

Trade Triad publishes educational content about the history of trade, trade routes, and the exchange of goods, technologies, and ideas across societies. It is not a financial, investment, or commercial publication.

Neutrality and framing

We try to present trade history as the product of many societies and participants rather than crediting a single nation, ruler, or "discoverer." Where a historical development is genuinely attributable to a specific documented individual or institution, we say so; where it reflects a broader, multi-society process, we describe it that way.

Difficult history

Trade routes carried immense benefit alongside real harm, including slavery, conquest, coerced labor, and disease. We do not minimize, omit, or romanticize these aspects of history, and we avoid adventure-story framing of colonization or exploitation. At the same time, we aim to present this history soberly rather than sensationally.

Accuracy and uncertainty

We distinguish between well-documented historical fact and scholarly hypothesis, and we flag dates or claims that remain debated among historians rather than presenting a single estimate as settled. We do not invent quotations, fabricate sources, or attribute content to historians or authors who do not exist.

Independence

Trade Triad does not accept payment to include or exclude any historical event, article, or claim, and does not run advertising at this stage.
